Our seasonal Flu Vaccination programme this year will commences 01 Oct 19 and includes daily appointment slots and a Flu Clinic on Saturday 12th October from 09:00 – 15:00.  For those patients already signed up to Patient-Services, all of our Flu Vaccine appointments are bookable online.  Use the link if you’d like to register for Patient-Services and take advantage of being able to book your appointments online, as well as order your repeat-medication.

All appointments are pre-bookable only and are for entitled patients and registered carers.  If you fall into the category of being at risk; 18 – 64 year olds, or Over 65s, you will have been sent an invitation by letter, SMS Text message, and/or email.

We have c. 1,800 patients to invite for vaccination; 1,100 of whom have registered mobile numbers for SMS; and we have a small number of entitle registered carers.

Letters are only sent to:

  • those patients for whom have no registered mobile telephone number or;
  • those patients for whom do not wish to be contacted by SMS or;
  • have no registered email address.

We are able to vaccinate non-entitled patients but there is an administrative charge which will be explained at the time of request.  We would, however, advise that non-entitled patients consider going to their local pharmacy for the vaccination.

Booking an Appointment

  • You can book your appointment when you have received your invitation
  • Telephone after 10:00.  Our busiest period is 08:00 – 10:00 and so we will not make any flu appointments before 10:00.
  • Coming into the Practice.  Again we would recommend that you come in after 10:00.
  • Online booking.  Any time!  But please be advised that if you are booking as a non-entitled patient there will be further charges that will need to be paid upfront – or it may be the case that we cannot accommodate your request.

Our Clinical Administrators have been directed to ask you, in the first instance, whether you have been sent an invitation before they check your clinical record.

The Appointment

The Flu appointments are between 3 – 5 minutes in duration and there is no time for any other consultation advice during the appointment.  We ask that you arrive prepared and that you have removed outer garments prior to going into the treatment room.  You will be given after-care advice when you arrive at the Practice and we ask that you take a moment to read the advice before leaving the Practice.
